Emily – Christmas 2011 in Albury Hospital

Emily was diagnosed with pneumonia Christmas Eve and was admitted straight to hospital – she was released late on Christmas day once they had administered the anti-biotic and got her oxygen levels back up.

She had not been feeling well prior to leaving Kuala Lumpur and with the hectic week in Canberra visiting friends prior to Christmas it all got on top of her. To make it worse she kept having an adverse reaction (rash) to the various types of anti-biotic and so it took 4 attempts before they found one that was OK.

Kerrie had taken Emily to the doctor Thursday 22nd, when they returned from Canberra. The doctor diagnosed it as a virus but did give her an anti-biotic just in case. We went back on Saturday because of the rash she had got and that was when they diagnosed pneumonia – so lucky she had the adverse reaction otherwise we might not have got it until it was worse and then she would have missed her flight back to Kuala Lumpur the following week.

Santa visited Emily in hospital plus the family so wasn’t all bad.
