June 14, 15 and 16 was the Primary School FOBISSEA (Federation of British International Schools in South East Asia) games which this year were held at the Shewsbury International School, Bangkok.
GIS had an outstanding games finally toppling Patana in the T-Ball for Year 6 to take Gold with the Year 4 and Year 5 each taking silver. Emily played well with a number of base hits and some brilliant catching as back stop. She took two blinding catches in the last innings for two critical outs at home.
In the athletics Emily took Silver for Ball Push and Bronze for T-Ball Throw. She is strong!!! She also competed in the 60m and 100m sprints plus relays and did well but no medal.
They were unlucky in the soccer loosing two of their pool matches in the last 30 seconds by a goal. This made it difficult to recover especially as they were still very emotional from the T-Ball win the previous day.
The FOBISSEA games is an amazing experience for the kids with only 6 Girls and 6 Boys selected from each year to represent the school and giving them a chance to fly to different places in SEA and compete.
It is one of the many great experiences the girls are having in SEA and GIS.
