Emily’s Year 8 GIS Camp this year was at Bintan Island in Indonesia. They got a few days to climb coconut trees, go on the flying fox, kayak, swim and play.
Getting to Bintan from Kuala Lumpur was a long haul with 6 hours in a bus to Singapore and then a 2 hour ferry to Bintan.
Some video of their time at Bintan…not the best quality as Emily was using the GoPro…
I have also been to Bintan for a work conference in 2012. As an island it is OK but not a place to really target for your holidays. It is more setup as a weekend escape for those that live in Singapore. Things are relatively expensive to other SEA islands as it is targeted at Singaporeans escaping.
