It’s been over a month since I blogged and mainly because we have been so hectic with the move from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne. I have a lot of posts to catch up on but thought it right to start with the closure of our move being Emily finally starting school at Methodist Ladies College (MLC) in Hawthorn, Melbourne.
She ironed her own uniforms and made her own lunch and walked with Kerrie down the end of the street to MLC. The location of our new house is great as it is in walking distance to both MLC and Glenferrie shops, which are a great mix of restaurants, boutique shops and practical shops.
Emily didn’t want to talk much about school when I got home acting as the typical teenager. But then out for dinner tonight she opened up and it seemed like she had a good day. Em is the type of person who takes a bit to get going but once she does you cannot shut her up.
She did go into school yesterday for a small orientation and to pick up her school laptop. She also picked up a $275 calculator (apparently compulsory) and spent a fortune on school books and so we are learning once again the school fees are only part of the expense.
