Flying Brick Cider – Enjoying Ocean Grove

On our way home from Ocean Grove last Sunday we called in to our local cider house for lunch – the Flying Brick Cider Co.

What an absolutely superb lunch we had with great cider in a rural setting. We went for the Charcuterie platter, country style terrine, cured meats, pate, relish, pickle. In addition Em ordered the Braised Beef cheek, celeriac puree, kale & purple potato crisps. Both dishes were outstanding but Em was not a fan of the celeriac puree and so I finished off the beef cheek.

There was too much on the Charcuterie platter for the three of us and so we asked to take it home. To do this we had to sign a disclaimer that waived our rights should we get food poisoning or the like. I was surprised by this and is obviously further evidence on how Australia is changing and how litigious Australia is becoming.

As we had Ruby we sat outside. It was cold but the sun was out and we were rugged up. This is Victoria at its best when you have good food, good drink and a bit of a chill in the air.

This place is well worth a stop for lunch when down the Bellarine Peninsula. If you want a seat inside then it is worth calling ahead to make a reservation.
