On Tuesday we had an 18th Party for Moo with lunch at the Mercat Barcelona Gastrobar in Bangsar with her school friends. It was a lovely afternoon made all the more special that was the last time for her to really be with all her school friends and so there were extra sets of hugs and kisses.
Although her actual 18th is a few weeks away it was good for her to celebrate with her school friends. It took some pushing to get Moo to have a party but I think she was very glad she did in the end.
We did all the typical 18th Birthday things with a large poster print of Molly for everyone to sign, a photo booth for photos with friends and of course we had the projector shooting out her Molly Movie’s and Beatles Music.
Mercat, as always, did a fantastic job with a range of Tapas and then a squid ink Paella to finish with. Jugs of Tinto de verano (wine, soda and vermouth) were also perfect with the heat given it was a Malaysian afternoon. Many thanks to Jorge and David, owners of Mercat, for a memorable day and being fantastic hosts for Molly.
Molly was able to move around the tables and mingle with her friends…I just thought it was funny that for 18 year olds, the boys sat and one table and the girls at another 🙂
Both Moo and I did a speech at the end and then she blew out the candles on her cake but everyone was too full to really have any cake…too much good food.
