A major family milestone last Sunday (3rd March) when Em moved into Newman College to start o-week and her Aviation / Pilot Degree with RMIT.
We arrived at 10am and were greeted by a swarm of students keen to show Em to her room and help her settle in. A bit embarrassed as the car was full but that is only because this time we were prepared and so had much of what Em would need. People did get excited when they saw the various sporting equipment unload as we are sure Em will end up in many of Newman’s sporting teams.
A church service, which was our first Catholic Service given Newman is a Catholic College, followed by lunch in the Dinning Room have us a chance to meet a few parents. Then it was goodbye – no tears as she was too excited!!!
We got an indication of how small the world can be at times. When we sat down for lunch the family next to us were from Canberra and teach at the same school that our next door neighbour from Canberra teaches at. A small world it is.
